It is not a matter of how much Greg wants to get rid of me so he can go back to his rotation of processed meats and cheesy mashed potatoes. It is a matter of telling our University that we demand the same choices that other colleges statewide have. It is a matter of demanding a diverse menu of lower-cholesterol foods that are both tasty, and rich in nutrition.
Lets do this.
No Nothing

Hey! So I just found out that NYU also uses Aramark, and we have FANTASTIC vegan and vegetarian options (especially in one particular dining hall.) Most meat eaters even opt for the veggie stuff, it is so good.
ReplyDeleteFor instance, today for lunch in the vegan section there were Tofu Sloppy Joes, Aloo Gobi, and Barley with Sesame, Carrots and Ginger. There were also super yummy collard greens, and different types of pasta, rice, and bean salads.
I don't know how our schools can use the exact same company and have such drastically different dining programs. If your school is having problems, maybe it could take a peak into the NYU model and see how we're managing?
I think that Aramark tries to cater to their school's "demographic", so maybe if you convince them by numbers that they are not actually doing that, you'll be luckier.
